See that red reel mower? Best. Gift. From. Santa. EVER! Yep. Santa. I’m pretty sure we have the only 6 year-old who wanted a reel mower. We didn’t pull any, “You’ll cut your toes off. Sorry, son.” Santa’s elves talked it through and made a reel mower happen. And the great thing is, he uses it most every chance he’s able. My mowing days are numbered! I’m not sure how much fun it will be when the grass is no longer dormant, but I’m pretty sure that he’ll give it all his might.
This was a pretty hard shot to get. I tried tried tried to just capture the reel and his feet, but the moving target made focusing near impossible. I could have shot with a higher aperture, but I thought about that as I was culling the photos at night…too late. I knew I wanted grass flying and that happened with nearly every shot…whew. This particular image had the best composition despite part of the wheel and the tippy top of his head being cut off…perhaps they balance one another? I’m going to go with that one.
I’m going to call this one, “Mower Love!”
