Carter Family Session – Sholom Park

One of my top locations for family photo sessions is Sholom Park in Ocala, Florida. It’s been on the radar of local photographers for years. Some poo-poo it saying that EVERYONE has their photos done at Sholom Park.  I say it’s the perfect spot! There’s beauty in almost every direction that you look which can especially helpful when you have little people that you’re following around. And a big plus is having a restroom facility. Great for potty training kiddos as well as a spot to change into a new outfit. Plus they have a little of everything…pond, manicured forest, rolling hills, blooming annual flowers, walking paths etc… I love the peace and tranquility that can be found there. It seems that most of the folks that enjoy this space, do so comfortably and pleasantly. I do a little giddy dance when a client suggests Sholom Park! It’s definitely one of my happy places!

The Carter Family came to me via a silent auction put on by my children’s school. Mrs. Carter is a new teacher there and I didn’t quite know her when we were planning. I knew that she had a son that was in the military, a daughter that was a senior in high school. and an elementary-aged son. All of her kiddos were going to be under one roof near the holidays and she was anxious to have a photo session that showcased that. What an honor it is for me to do that for this lovely family! We meet up at Sholom Park and I feel like Mrs. Carter and I have been friends for years! She’s that kind of gal. I love that in a person. Instant comfort! We were able to get some great shots of her kiddos and her whole family! We’re going to make a date soon to order up some artwork for her walls! thank you, Carter Family!
